On 3/24 Scrapdango had a 1 hour sketch challenge. The sketches were posted at 9 pm and we had one hour to make a layout or card using that sketch. Here is the project I made in just under an hour.

Playing Cards

Last Saturday a friend from church came over. She is new to cardmaking. We spent the day trying new techniques and making quite a few cards. Here is some of the results:
These next 2 cards were made using a split negative technique I found on youtube. Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9p6AoL2pJ8&feature=related

I was playing with my Perfect pearls and my stamps to make this card. The idea was taking from the "Thinking Inking" tutorials from 2 Peas in a Bucket on youtube.
This was yet another new technique. The spinners actually spin! I was challenged to use eyelets and I wanted to find something new to do with them. I made my own pinwheels using the techniques in this tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJ-mDrJFc0E

All in all it was a fun day and I learned a few new techniques that I am planning to use again.

Mark your Calendars!

This Friday (March 23) at 9pm EST, come over to the message boards for a 1 hour Sketch Challenge. Each member of the DT will be providing you with an original sketch for you to choose from. You'll have an hour to post your take on it.

Aimee will be providing a prize pack to the winner!

It Shows!

I have been on a journey for several years - a journey to get closer to God. I have succeeded which makes me very happy and even more blessed. He has been so faithful (even when I have not been) and his blessings are overwhelming. Since I began this journey here are just a few things that He has been with me through :

The death of my mom
The death of my dad, 1o months after my mom
The closing of my church
The search for a new church
Foreclosure proceedings on our home
Carpel tunnel surgery
Theft of my car
Raising 2 teens

There has been much more, but every time I face a challenge, he is there. I know this but I was not really aware that (unless you actually read this blog) that my relationship with him really showed. I want it to, but I really didn't know how. But even not knowing how, I have managed to do it.

I was at Curves and there were just a few other people. One of the ladies that was working there was talking to her co-worker who she knew well. I was working out. She said that normally that she wouldn't ask but she knew that I was a strong Christian. She asked for a prayer request for her sister in law who was very sick. Of course I was glad to pray for her. I was even more pleased though that someone who I do not know that well, someone who I have never made a point to speak about my faith to, knew that I belonged to him! Praise the Lord!

Sketch

One of the duties of the team is to design a sketch and make a layout using that sketch. Here is my sketch and my project of it. ( and, yes, I did the sketch first and then the layout)

March Sugar Reveal

This is my first reveal for Scrapdango. They have 2 kits each month - one sugar and one spice. I am a designer for the spice kit. Here are some of my projects:
The journaling on this one says: At age 15, Eva is a beautiful young woman. She is independent and creative. Truly a free spirit
March is a big birthday month in our family (and our church family). I had to make 3 layouts - one being a 2 page, and cards or another type of paper craft. I chose to make birthday cards.

Blog Hop projects

I hopped last weekend. I didn't finish all the projects, but I did get a few done. And even more important, I had fun! The first one shown is from Jessica's challenge. It can be found here: Jessica Jennings
The other one I did this weekend was Anna's challenge. That can be found here: Ana White
I am not done with all the challenges, but I have until the end of the week to finish them. I hope that you will come and join me and have some fun while you are at it.

Ok, here is my challenge: a recipe challenge

Everyone likes an ice cream sundae. All sundaes start with ice cream and then you add a topping of your choice. Then add some extras to make it yours. That is what my scrapping recipe is like. I will give you some basic elements, then some choices to make your project yours. Here is the recipe you will need to follow:

2 patterned papers (no more, no less)

Stitching

Some kind of chipboard element

Now you have some choices to make ( you must choose one of each pair)

Sanding or tearing

Ink or painting

Stickers or rub-ons

One element of your own choosing

Here is my sample:

Now that you have stopped by, don't forget to hop on over to Shannon Blinn
If you stopped here, make sure to stop at the beginning and hop all the way through so you can get a peek at ALL the challenges and get a head start!!
